Weapons of Legacy: does anyone have it yet?

monkeynova

First Post
I am planning to get it on Friday (when it hits my FLGS), but if anyone has a copy and would care to comment, I'd be interested in hearing opinions on the book. Specifically, I'm wondering if the expanded treatment in Weapons is compatibly with the legendary weapons system presented in Unearthed Arcana (the designer interview seems to hint that Bruce didn't know of the UA system until he was in some stage of development of the new material).

Thanks,

monkeynova

I looked through it at Origins and frankly was not impressed so I put it down and walkerd away. Atlas got my money instead.

Really? Can you describe further Crothy?

Also what from Atlas did you get? *doubts it d20...since they stopped which is a shame.*

Its hard to put into words. It just wasn't what I was expecting exactly and just didn't inspire me to buy it. I didn't look at it long, just a small flip through.

And you are wrong, I picked up two d20 books: Love and War, and Nyambe :D. You know that if you read my live journal, no one drops as many RPG titles in the LJ as I do  see

Your words of reviewing are highly respected, therefore, as a advancement, rate the book, if you can or want, please.

Yeah, at $10 Nyambe was a steal. I picked it up as well. I was a little dissapointed with how masks work, I was expecting something more exotic, but I got the book for all the culture stuff and it delivers there.

I could not in good conscious do that. I'd have to take a better look at the book and read it. My first impression was a small and negative one. And I could not rate it based solely on that, sorry.

I would wish you would elaborate on why you didn't like it. It might help me to understand the book.

Secondly wow Love and War AND Nymbe?! Wow. Too cool. I didn't think Atlas was going to offer anyone some of their back order d20.

Understood, that was the same way, when I first read *scan* the EPIC book as well. And to this date, that feeling remained true.

I'm off to 401 Games in Toronto to get it. They just confirmed to me that have it in stock for $34 CDN.

Despite some negative comments in this thread, those comments do no appear to be based on any thorough reading of Weapons of Legacy - so I am not persuaded by any negativity so far.

The whole idea behind Weapons of Legacy is something which a DM of mine played with back in 1981 or so. It was an excellent idea then and it remains an excellent idea now.

As to the execution on that idea - that remains to be seen. I'll post a review here later on when I can.
