Web host providers: Your choice?

I use Cedant for my personal web site. They are great, virtually no problems, but they aren't cheap. I'm looking to move my site from there at some point in the near future.

Well, depends on how much space you need.
But I'll third Dreamhost.com - fast connection, good service and you get quite a lot for your money. Even a free domain name!

I'm with 1&1, and though I've only been with them for a few months, they've been fantastic. I'm on their Business package, and I get 2GB of web space and 50GB/month of bandwidth for $9.99 USD. And their servers are blazing fast. I regularly get over 300Kb/sec.

I've recently set up 5 different domains on HostM.com and have been extremely pleased with everything, including the service. They have been very helpful and attentive to my needs. I plan on staying with them a long time after going through 5 different providers through the past 6 years.

It has zero bearing on my recommendation, but if you decide to host with them and feel like mentioning my username (haiiro) during registration, they have a nice rewards program. In all seriousness, I'd recommend them highly regardless of that.

I didn't see where I could mention a referrer though. I am truly sorry about that as I would have been more than happy to give credit where credit is due

I think you'll be happy with their service. And Ruined is right about the grandfathering of upgrades -- I get emails about things that have been added or upped for my domain periodically, it's nice.

As far as retroactive referral, I checked and apparently I can do it from my end, but you can't from yours. If you're comfortable doing so, drop me an email at haiiro(at)metacrawler(dot)com with the email address you used for DH, as well as your webID or domain, and I think that's all I'd need.
