Website Newsletters?

Does anyone know how to go about setting up an automated newsletter subscription for a webpage.

I would like to let people type in an email address and then send out a monthly newsletter.

Do you just need the subscription process to be automated? If so, what you need is good mail list software. I found an excellent one called MojoMail (now Dada Mail), and it's free. http://mojo.skazat.com/

I think you need some minor knowledge in setting up scripts. But it let's people subscribe/unsubscribe and it's all automated. When you have a newsletter to mail, do it from the web interface (there are plugins that allow you to use your mail program). It allows for bulk mailing, too, if your mail server limits the amount of email per hour you can generate.

Another possibility is to set up an RSS feed on your site which you can update as you wish and interested parties can "subscribe" to the RSS feed with a dedicated RSS reader or some other means. You can write the actual RSS file in notepad or something similar if you wish.
