Great translation, how about this one.

On va etre la avec nos bottes de Noel, et huite racinettes sur nos dos.

One will be it with our boots of Christmas, and (misspelled eight) rasinettes on our backs?!

Btw

A polite (hey, it's the Canadiana Suite afterall!) reminder for those planning on attending:

The Suite closes its doors at midnight Wednesday night in order to give those of us getting up early - and Michael Morris, who will be sleeping on the couch that night- a decent night's rest. If you are looking for an all-night hang-out space, the Canadiana Suite is not it. Please use us as a jumping board for other activities, but don't plan on being able to stay there all night. We've got two kids, and we all have to be up good and early to assemble the ENnies booth Thursday morning.

Close, translation is:

We will be there with our Christmas boots and eight rootbeers on our backs.

Amazing what you'll come up with when your drunk and waiting all night in line for Metallica tickets.

In other words, we must move the party downstairs at midnight, and continue the merriment there.

Or of course, we can invade Moridin's room at that point.

"Attention, madames et monsieurs, mais il faut maintenant demenager nos celebrations chez la chambre de Moridin!"

I for one welcome our Canadian invaders and intend to follow their instructions explicitly! ;)

I'll probably show up there on Wednesday night with Theo (who I think you guys remember from last year...CL; you and I played Pirates of the SpanishMain with him).

Our buddy Chris might be in attendance as well.

Fusangite will probably show up as well. Quite a contingent from our crew on the Left Coast of Canada will be attending the con this year.

As someone who works with audio/video equipment for a living, that was somehow horrifying and cathartic at the same time. I'm very curious as to how this "ritual" got started.

Had a garage sale the weekend before GenCon 3 years back. We (well my buddy trying to sell it) had this TV that did not work and was not worth fixing, and no one bought it. Well another guy in our group bought it after the sale was over for $5, and since we have never seen a TV implode, we figured why not. The Wednesday before we started driving, we took it out to a field and had fun. ever since we scour garage sales before GenCon and see what can be found. This year is my year to take the first swing. :)

The Alright Guys ride again!!

11 more days.

Canadiana Suite preparations...

Laissez les bons temps (et nos dés) rouler!

I just bought four bags of maple cookies (one for each night of the Canadiana Suite), and two large bags of distinctively-Canadian all-dressed chips. On Friday on the way back from the city we'll be stopping by a small town called St-Albert to pick up some genuinely fresh and squeaky cheese curds (6 bags- one for each night, with extras for Wednesday and Saturday night) for poutine. Last weekend whilst at my mother's place I borrowed her Krokinole stones. This weekend we'll secure us some Canuck beers.

Hooyeah!

Was Theo the friend of yours who fell in love with XCrawl last year? If so, point him out to the Pandahead Auction- betcha he'd like the jersey...
