Spoilers Wednesday S2

Well, that was quite the finale! Enid sacrifices everything for her friend, and more secrets are revealed. Tyler survives his toxic family, and we at last learn Thing's secret origin!

It's interesting that this season both acknowledged that Thing's existence is not unique (other severed body parts of Outcasts can survive on their own) but also explained a lot of how he moves and performs his various feats- he has telekinetic abilities due to being a Da Vinci!

And my my, Grandmama Frump, keeping your daughter a prisoner all this time!

Lots of great moments, not the least of which is Enid's revenge on Wednesday (the revelation that yes, one can be allergic to color), and Agnes and Enid's stunning dance routine. We got Principal Weems back (in spirit, at least, heh) and we find out exactly how diabolical Dort truly is.

Also, Casper Van Dien's career went up in flames. Again. : )

Can't wait for Season 3!

Yeah. I had been wondering if they’d try another dance routine this season. This one was epic, and they really upped the ante by making it a duet. I wonder if it will go viral on TikTok like Wednesday’s season 1 dance did.
Its a cool routine, especially with the invisibile in and outs....but its not as memorable as the Season 1. That routine was just so unique, especially as it reflected Wednesday's character. In comparison, this was just a nice solid choreography.

All and all, great season, I think I liked it better than the first as it included the rest of the family more continuously. I think the Mother/Daughter dynamic is the best part of the show, its something that all teenagers can relate to and it feels authentic.

I also appreciate that that we both see our badass Wednesday, but with the continuing reflection on her weakness of arrogance. Its her big character flaw that has led to some real issues for her and her friends, and I appreciate maintaining that balance.

I will admit I enjoyed it as a fun silly ride, much more cohesive than the first half,
but omg it was a convoluted trip.

There were too many characters but at least they took the time to tie all the ends up (kinda)

It was great to see Gwendoline Christie back looking fabulous. Enjoyed the body swap episode, Emma did a good Wednesday. Wasnt so keen of Jennas channelling Enid
Loved the dance number and learning just how young Evie Templeton is I am really impressed by her talent as a performer, she often stole the scene. Apparently, she has a role in the upcoming Silent Hill movie so I look forward to seeing how her career goes.

Surprised they gave a definitive backstory for Thing, though sad he isnt unique and thought the support group for sentient bodyparts was silly. They got to drop in some Mexican appreciation and a commentary on appropriation - yay Gomez!

Casting Fred Armisen as Uncle Fester was an inspiring choice in Season 1, and that continued perfectly in Season 2. I think he's been an excellent fit with the Jackie Coogan-style Fester.

Early in the season, I was seeing a couple of reviews wondering if they'd be able to balance things with a larger set of characters, and I think they ended up handling things well. Gwendoline Christie's return and Evie Templeton's Agnes were particular stand-outs.

Season 2's Episode 6, in particular, was thoroughly enjoyable. Allergic to color, indeed.

I'd like to call it "toxic competence." I've met people who act like that.

EDIT - Now that I've thought of it, I looked that term up and apparently that's a thing. Who knew?

I did wonder why the Jericho event was considered appropriation but the Nevermore version wasn't. Maybe just because it was less egregiously exploitative?
More anti-Outcast bigotry, I imagine. There's a reason they're called Outcasts.
