Spoilers Wednesday S2

I did wonder why the Jericho event was considered appropriation but the Nevermore version wasn't. Maybe just because it was less egregiously exploitative?
Day of the Dead is, fundamentally, about remembering dead members of the family and incorporates colorful festivities. Nevermore's event remembers and celebrates dead members of the extended Nevermore/Outcast family - the core activity of the holiday. The Jericho Pilgrim World's event was about the colorful festivities (put on by a bunch of New England gringos) without respecting the core.
So, it's a big difference. One I could see Gomez recognizing and respecting.

I loved Gomez's take-down, with Spanish :ROFLMAO:

They got to drop in some Mexican appreciation and a commentary on appropriation - yay Gomez!
Oh yeah, Gomez dropping truth bombs! I love how he has the same low opinion of Pilgrim World as his daughter.

Something that I'm curious about is this apparent bias against Outsiders without powers that we saw this season. Wednesday only got her psychic powers after going to Nevermore, yet nobody even commented on it!

Also, now I'm curious how powers manifest themselves in family lines. Enid comes from an all-Werewolf family, but the Addams are a mixed Precognitive/Electrokinetic family, and the Night siblings were apparently a mixed Telekinetic(+Enhanced Inventing)/Hyde family. Can a person only have one power, or could you inherit two? Do certain powers manifest along gender lines, or was Wednesday always going to be a precognitive, no matter who her father was?

I was thinking on that too, but then realised the show is focussed on the school for outsiders and the town of jericho which has become inured to outsider weirdness. We havent yet seen the reactions of the wider normie world - Except for the normie serial killer in episode 1 who showed surprise with his encounter with Wednesday and Thing.

Yeah it seems a bit all over the place. I seem to recall the visions thing was female only (or did I make that up in my own headcanon?)

And now we have 3 known Hydes, which seems a lot for a species infamous for chaos and destruction!

It's too bad.

The fun of The Addams Family is seeing them interacting with 'normal' people, criminals, and USSR dignitaries while believing that every other family is just like them.

I agree, my biggest complaint about this version is that they turned it into Monster High, yet we're still suppose to believe Wednesday is 'special' despite a relatively mundane power.

Hopefully the next iteration of the Addams's will have them dwelling amongst normies
