Weem's Combat Character Sheet (One-Sided, Landscape)

weem

First Post
This is what I am currently using for games I play in - created in illustrator, etc etc...

I posted a version here a while back, but it has gone through a number of changes since then so I thought I would post this version of it for those interested. Screenshot below...

Lemme know what you think, or if you see anything that you would change (fixes or adjustments).

Thanks!

I like it! I have the following critiques, but honestly it's really just nitpicking as there aren't any major problems with the sheet.

  • The attributes section, IMO, seems a bit over-complicated; however, I could understand someone wanting it as-is.
  • What's the "Special Abilities" section for? I assume things like immediate reactions and all that, but I'm not positive.
  • The boxes are slightly too small for my preferences as far as readability goes, but there's not a lot of leeway there.
  • There doesn't appear to be a spot to track surges used, but you could just as easily put tally marks in the corner of the HP box.
  • The middle column is *slightly* shifted too high, as far as the neatness of everything lining up goes... but it's not terribly important.
  • The distance between the skill names and the actual bonuses, along with the somewhat-cramped feel of the section, might occasionally cause one to look at the wrong bonus. Haven't used the sheet in play, but just looking at it now and intentionally trying to read it at a glance, my eyes jumped to the wrong bonus a couple times. I'd imagine after getting used to it, this wouldn't happen all that much, though.
Other than that (and even those are really minor complaints), looks great! Not much in the way of one-sided sheets out there (hence the other thread I started) so it's nice to see options :D

The only thing that'd really keep me from using this at the table is that it's cluttered. Works great for many people, and even I don't mind it that much, I just prefer having a more open feel to character sheets.

Yea, things are a bit small, but I don't mind (and it was made for me so, hehe). It's basically everything I like to have for a character sheet, but I thought I would share since I made updates since posting in a while back.

I moved the middle column higher intentionally so no biggie (for me) there. In fact, it used to be more pronounced in an earlier version. (Though the bottom of the left column could come up a tiny bit - Those were supposed to match up on the bottom -- though if I do that, I would just make the top match as well - one day, hehe)

What's the "Special Abilities" section for? I assume things like immediate reactions and all that, but I'm not positive.

Yea... things like the Bugbear's "Predatory Eye" or the halflings "Second Chance", etc - things we tend to forget about.

The only thing that'd really keep me from using this at the table is that it's cluttered.

I guess that's subjective. I feel it's pretty organized and clean - busy? Sure, but I don't think it's too cluttered. But what do I know (don't answer that) - maybe it's the same thing busy and cluttered, hehe.

Thanks for the feedback - much appreciated ;) Glad you like it!

Cluttered I suppose wasn't the right word. Busy or cramped fits a bit better. Or just "the boxes are small," haha. Like I said, I haven't actually played with it, so it's hard to judge... I think it's just my dislike for the official character sheet that makes me wary of sheets with a lot going on.

I do plan on trying out this sheet in play, though :D Of course, as I'm typically DM, I don't have as many opportunities to do so as I'd like.

EDIT: Oh, one thing that actually SHOULD be fixed... "deity" is spelled wrong ;)
