Weird e-mail received

First Post
I'm not sure if this is the right place to post this, but here goes.
I received the following e-mail from "c.johanson@centurytel.net"
EN World GameStore Sales Notification:
CSX Psionics x 1

You have received this message from the EN World GameStore because you are
listed as a Publisher. If this is not correct, please reply to this email and
request this status be removed.

I am certainly not a publisher. And the one PDF product that I've had a hand in (as editor) is not this one.

Can anybody verify that this is a legit e-mail before I reply to it? Thanks.

We're terribly sorry for the last email sent out to many of you. This was a VERY temporary error in the system that sent out the notification of a sale to everyone who was not the publisher of the product - effectively everyone but the publisher himself. This was not intented to be a spam, but was a simple mistake in the code that has been immediately corrected. Again, we're terribly sorry for any mistake this may have caused, and hope you enjoy your gaming.

Oh, how annoying for them! I don't know how many times I've coded something != when it should be == or vice versa.

Thanks, Wystan.

You might try crossposting in the Meta forum as well. But Chris Johanson is the owner at Twin Rose Software. Since ENGS is a cooperative effort, I think Chris is handling a lot of the admin side of things. It might be that there are some data fields mispopulated in the database and they are contacting you to verify information before they take corrective action.

EDIT: Intervening posts while I typed have already appeared to solve the mystery. :)

No, I think it was just a coding error, according to the second e-mail. Everybody should be receiving these e-mails once or twice. I'm sure it's taken care of now.

Morrus might want to post an announcement, though. :)

Coding issues or no, I've managed to develop a very high opinion of Mr. Johansen in a very short time. I think he must have hardwired himself to his pc.

Props...
