Weirdest Sci-Fi show ever?

The trouble with Lexx, is it just wasn't as funny as the people making it thought it was. Granted, some of it probably was because it was German originally and so meant for a somewhat different audience than North America. But it reminded me a lot of the TV show "Black Scorpion", which tried to be campy like the old Batman, but just didn't suceed. (Though both had their moments).

Anyway, I'm changing my vote to Sealab 2021. While it sometimes isn't as funny as it could be (especially that Sharko character), the first two seasons were absolutely brilliant in its weirdness.

I mean, a Barbeau-bot? Genius.

The X-Files had some weird/horror moments. Red Dwarf and Lexx were both strange/weird in that they often seemed like the writers lost their train of thought mid-script and just wrote their way forward with the intention of getting back to clean up their errors but never did manage. (Buck Henry's) Quark was weird/campy but Buck had left most of his best work back on Get Smart. Special Unit 2 was one that slipped past me almost unnoticed.

Now if you want a really, really weird Sci-Fi show, you need look no further than Space Ghost Coast to Coast which might even be the weirdest show of any genre to ever be conceived and brought to the small screen. Sealab 2021 might be up there in the second or third spot just because of how it is created but if you like that, you should watch Comedy Central's Drawn Together, if you can stand the subject matter and language.

Well, if animated Scifi is allowed, what about Aeon Flux, or pretty much everything else Peter Chung has ever worked on? And I'm sure there are plenty of animes that would fit, like FLCL or Excel Saga. Even more mainstream stuff like Akira was pretty surreal.

Prime Time of old: Salvage One...Lucan...Man From Atlantis

Saturday Mornings: Dr Shrinker...Electra Woman and Dyna Girl...Lost Saucer

Marionettes: Stingray...Captain Scarlet

Sorry, nothing could possibly beat:

Mysteries from Beyond the Other Dominion

It still amazes me that such a show ever aired... but it was a hoot...

The original Lexx mini-movies were actually good. It was the full series that got... bizarre.

I can't remember the title, but the strangest Sci-Fi thing I've seen was some short-lived show where this guy designed a video game and accidentally brought the main villain to life. Of course, every week another villain would be pulled out by the main bad guy, wackiness ensued. Brent Spiner was the bad guy one week.

Lexx was good. With a bigger budget it might have been great. The sometimes goofy look was a big minus.

I never actually saw it as trying to be funny.

This one? http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0111937/

The main villain was played by Christopher Lloyd. I kept thinking that if he hadn't been on the show there wouldn't have been any reason to watch it.
