Werewolf Teeth Question

OP, you must ask yourself: "my players are powergamers?".

"Yes" - the tooth does nothing.
"No" - the tooth sometimes inflict lycantrophy.

Well, why would a person be more concerned about having the werewolf feel pain after it's gone on and killed innocent women and people? Werewolves, at least in D&D, are completely evil beings and deserve all the punishment they get.

Not true in other game systems though.

You know werewolf teeth aren't like LEGOS, right? They're built as major weapons, tough enough to rend flesh and crush bones. They don't just pop out easily.
And don't forget they have DR 10/silver backing them up.
So, in a world without modern dental tools,
you use re-purposed masonry tools

But seriously, I've noticed a disturbing trend. When PCs get creative, whether posters support the creativity or denounce it seems to hinge on how far the creativity goes outside their comfort zones. Almost like some folks think one should put the kibosh on creativity if it happens to involve committing crimes against humanity. Certainly such actions will deleteriously affect the alignment of a character, but that is hardly a reason to say the atrocity won't work.

To quote the d20 SRD:

"Good" implies altruism, respect for life, and a concern for the dignity of sentient beings.

"Evil" implies hurting, oppressing, and killing others.

I'm pretty sure causing huge amounts of pain to no purpose other than you having a piece of jewelry isn't showing much concern for the dignity of anything, and is kind of more in the hurting and oppressing end of things.

YMMV.

Heh. Yeah, you know, that is so strange! People seem to be against seeing creativity turned towards creating new and interesting ways of spreading pain and causing torment. How unusual, especially in the holiday season, you'd think folks would love to see that kind of thing enacted around their dining room tables. How unfair!

:hmm:

It is, it seems to me, part of the GM's job to enforce the genre and style of the game - encouraging desired behaviors, and discouraging things they'd prefer not to see.

Great stuff love the last one there orc and is it were-couch or wear-coach, and even Worn-coach
and if its a vote... as a DM I would say nay.
and on the weapon development, the teeth would have to be taken while the creature was still living and made quickly into the magic item, giving the chance at the creator contracting the affliction

Yes I am. It seems to me people are giving each other the Krampus the other 364 already, such that he doesn't really need the extra exposure.

I blame the shopping malls and radio stations, for playing holiday tunes before bloody Thanksgiving!! Why if I...errrr... what was this thread about, again? ;)

Ah yes, krampus.. I have a version of him in my game. He'd be the type that would not only yank the teeth from a living werewolf, but he'd make said beastie wear a ring of regeneration so he could yank teeth on a daily basis.

But he's a bad guy.
