Wow. that has to be the quickest I have ever seen a schtick lose its appeal.

Saw it once and was tired of it.

Anyway errata is always annoying. I have come to expect it (I bought the original edition of the Creature Collection in which virtually every monster entry has some errata for it!) but it is surprising there is so much in 3.5. I figured this was the time to get rid of all those boo-boos in 3.0 but it seems the 3.5 rule changes have spawned a whole new crop.

I don't know what can be done to protect yourself from this kind of stuff other than never buying anything on its relese date. Wait to see how much (and how glaring) the errata is before buying is about the only advice I can offer.

Uh, I guess everyone is in this kinda post GenCon bliss but isnt anyone pissed off about all the errors in 3.5. Check out the Errata thread in the Rules section. Its NUTS!

"Nuts" is an appropriate description of that thread, as most of what is listed there is NOT truly errata, but mainly the poster's opinion for changes/clarifications.

So far the 3.5 PHB has a lot less errata than the first printing of 3.0. Those of you who wait for second printings of 3.5 will probably pay $39.95 too...

I don't know about that thread, but this one looks reasonable enough.

Less than does not, AFAIC, equal acceptable amount of.

No, I won't. Even if I buy the books, I will not pay cover price for them. I'll be able to find them somewhere discounted at least 30%.

I feel ya on all counts, but keep in mind that 30% off of $39.95 is still roughly ten bucks more than 30% off of $29.95.

I don't know about you, but I'm already getting pressure from both my gaming groups to convert to 3.5. I think we will convert one game over ( our lower level game ) and see how it goes by next week...

Hong, isnt that "Lorem...." stuff the default template text in an old school version of Microsoft Frontpage?

Cheers,

It's default boilerplate text that's been used since the 1500's or so. It's usually used in typesetting to show off different fonts or layouts, since you can demonstrate the way the text looks without distracting the reader with actually having to read something.

The beginning of it is actual Latin, something from Cicero, I think, but it quickly devolves into nonsense.
