Whackiest Monster

That "Recall Monster Name" thread caused me to remember the whackiest monster I ever heard of.

It was in the Judges Guild 1st Ed module "Temple of Ra Accursed by Set" - a bizarre but fun module by the way. "Set, Set, Mearchant of Death, Fill all the World with your Bone-Chilling Breath."

Anyways, the monster was the Gorgriffspidrascorp. Seriously.

“The Gorgriffspidrascorp is a conglomerate monster created in the ancient and traditional fashion by combining parts of other beasts. Specifically the Gorgriffspidrascorp has the head of a Gorgon,n the n, the body of a Dragonne (which itself is a blend of Lion and Dragon), four legs and the web gland of a giant Spider - these legs ending in the talons of a Hippogriff (which are those of an Eagle), four legs of a Lion - these legs ending in the cloven hooves of a herd animal, the tail of a giant Scorpion, and the wings of a Dragon (which are those of a giant Bat).”

My two favorites both originated under the Barrier Peaks: Froghemoth (best name) and Wolf-in-Sheep's Clothing (best overall)

No, no, no. I think I have you all beat with the Calzone Golem from the 3e adventure Something's Cooking by Andy Collins. I would have to say it's ability to "Spurt (Ex)" when damaged had my gaming group and I in stitches.

Spurt (Ex): If the calzone golem is struck for damage by a slashing or piercing weapon, it spurts out a small splash of extremely hot juices from the wound. This spurt inflicts 1 point of fire damage to all individuals within 5 feet of the golem.

Just imagine the battle for a moment. LoL.

I would say the Two-Headed Cyclops. Funny enough, it was named the Biclops. Also, the Giant Space Hamster (if it really does exist in one of the books). The only thing that I can find funnier than those is the Wolf-In-Sheep's Clothing.

Indeed it does
