That's not a bad way to look at Episode I. I didn't hate him as much as most people do. I actually find him to be a tragic character especially after reading the novelization of the film by Terry Brooks. I thought he was an okay character. But I'd rather see Jar-Jar than an Ewok ever again. :)

I disagree, fifty percent! I'd rather see ewoks, of course I never had a problem with them. To me Jar Jar is just a stupid character who has no place in a Star Wars movie, and was just an attempt to appeal to children (not sure about the success), but mostly just alienated adults.

I can understand that. One of the players in my gaming group loves Ewoks. I don't hate em, but I could do without them. :)

And little people wearing cute fuzy snowsuits using sticks and stones to defeat a force of stormtroopers was intelligent, sophisticated and a huge appeal to adults everywhere?

Sorry, but I put JarJar and Ewoks on the same level... but at least with JarJar I cant see the zipper on the costume.

I think Ewoks are great! Get a slow roaster, put on a little barbeque sauce, and you're all set for a picnic. They taste kinda like chicken. And you can then make a wonderful coat out of the hide. Jar Jar's however are rather tough and stringy, with very little flavor to them. The hide, however, makes a great wallet or belt.

I hate skinning them. Takes too much time. And you need at least 3 of them to make a decent coat...

I don't know that I'm excited yet by anything coming out in 04. Harry Potter is probably the closest thing, though. And, naturally, I'll see and enjoy a lot of flicks that I'm not excited about yet. ;)

I'm also excited about the new Star Wars, but since that's an 05 movie, it doesn't count...

Van Helsing
Kill Bill 2
The Incredibles
Hellboy

Kinda wish M. Night would just stop making movies. Star Wars ended when I was eleven, I guess. Tried to watch Episode 1 last night and failed. And I used to like it. Dunno.

The funny thing about Hellboy is that I don't really like the comic. Just lame superhero nonsense.

But the stills that I've seen have been absolutely stunning. Guillermo del Toro (sp?) did a bang-up job on Blade II and I'm pretty excited to see what he does with this.
