What 3 WOTC books to buy????

I'd say:

  • Magic Item Compendium (esp. since it incorporates the DMG items in its tables)
  • Spell Compendium
  • Expanded Psionics Handbook (esp. since psionics are a big thing for kalashtar/Sarlona)

Magic Item Compendium also lists Eberron-specific magic items (like eternal wands and the like) and psionic items.

A "fourth" recommendation would be Unearthed Arcana--nice bunch of variant rules for any game.

I would get these:

Expanded Psionics Handbook: very nice to have around esp. if you're playing Eberron

Draconomicon: Oodles of fun

Magic Item Compendium: My players were practically drooling... that said it is actually a very useful book for the DM as well.

My Essentials
1. Fiendish Codex I : Hordes of the Abyss
2. Tome of Battle : The Book of Nine Swords
3. Manual of the Planes*
4. Lords of Madness**
5. Expanded Psionics Handbook
6. Magic Item Compendium

Notes
* : May be hard to find, and if your using Eberron a good deal of its material might need significant adaption.
** : Just saw that you already own Lords of Madness. Excellent product.

Player's Handbook II, Book of Nine Swords, and either Spell Compendium or Magic Item Compendium (or if you're DMing, Fiend Folio or MMIII). I am a bit biased, though, since I helped design three of those. I really think they help the game out a lot, though - among other things helping fighters regain some of the territory they gave up to melee clerics, spicing up spells, and most of all adding creativity to the players' side of the table. But I'd also recommend Lords of Madness, DMG 2, Complete Arcane and most things by Rich Baker, a lot of Dave Noonan's work. Both Rich and Dave try to keep the emphasis on fun, imo.

Y'know what? I'm with everyone else.

Spell Compendium, Item Compendium, PHBII.

But in the opposite order, if there's doubt.
