What 3E Core Races have you used and LIKED?

What 3E Core Races do you use and enjoy?

Human, dwarf and halfling. (I don't think of halflings as kender.)

Gnomes only in Eberron.

Elves are close to cool but just too mechanically weak. The half-races are multiple kinds of lame, IMO.

Call me one of the few that dislikes humans. They're just so bland and boring. Where's the flavor? I'm also one of the few that likes gnomes, it appears...

I mostly play humans, elves, and half-elves. Dwarves are cool, but for some reason all of my dwarf characters tend to be fill-ins or short-term characters. That could be because I've never taken the time to actually flesh out any of my dwarves. They end up being one-dimensional cariactures instead of three-dimensional characters.

I'd love to play a half-orc sometime, but the mood has never struck at the same time as the opportunity.

I've played a halfling once or twice, but the combination of the movement rate and the reduced damage from Small-sized weapons turned me off to doing so.

I've never in my life played a gnome, or felt the urge to play a gnome. Can't stand 'em.

IMC I have Humans, Gnomes, Half-orcs, half-elfs, half-giants amd goblins

I dropped elfs and halflings because they're pointless and dwarfs simply cause they didn't fit the setting (and Ive never played one)

I've played and enjoyed gnomes and humans. I've played a half-elf but it may as well have been a human. I've also played a half-orc and enjoyed it but that had nothing to do with his species...

Gnomes rock!

In my Midwood campaign, there have been about six humans, two dwarves, a gnome and a kobold.

I ran a 2E halfling campaign that really got a lot of the fun sucked out of it once they were dehobbitized. (Not to mention the Five Shires were totally incompatible with the 3E PHB halfling fluff.)

I've played a few dwarves, a few humans and am currently playing a gnome illusionist/bard.

I've played them all, at one time or another, and liked them all. From what I've read of developers playtesting 4e, I'm pretty sure the half-elf will be staying (someone mentioned playing one).

Some of my most memorable characters include: a Half-Orc, Human, and a Gnome.

Sadly, I think the Gnome is one getting the axe for 4e. I have no insider knowledge...just snapping up clues here and there. Speculation at this point.

Human, dwarf, elf and halfling are okay in my book.

Even though... I really would like the elves to be more... tolkienesque. Yes, that's the word. You know: detached from the world, strange and terrible, immortal, noble beings which are really different from humans. Just a wish. I love Eberron's treatment of elves too.
