I voted warlord but it's really hard to say before having read the PHB1. Normally, during my first reading of a PHB, there's one race/class/character concept that stands out and screams to me: Play me!

In 3E it was a dwarven barbarian castout worshipping Kord :)

Druid. *sigh*

Failing that, I've always been a fan of the Cleric and the Paladin, and the Warlock sounds pretty keen as well. I'll have to see which looks spiffiest.

Tough decision. I'm looking forward to Wizards very much, I'm hoping the Warlock is everything the Sorcerer should have been, and I've always been a Paladin kinda guy. But ultimately I had to choose the Warlord because I'm very curious about the concept and am curious to see how it plays.

I've been trying to fit a paladin in as long as I've been playing 3e, and despite twelve years of playing D&D, I've never run a pure 'tank' type. So that's what I picked, but cleric (haven't played anyone with more than 1 level of cleric since my first 3e character), fighter (pretty much for the same reasons as pallys), and wizard (I usually play arcanists) will get serious looks.

Paladin - I want to see why that guy at the convention loves playing one now.

That was when I was in my propaganda-sheep mode. I guess it stuck.
