What about my dragonborn

They are emblematic of 4e, and thus deserve to be in Next, but a lot of people will instantly shut down their minds if anything resembling 4e is so much as mentioned.

They'll definitely be in the core in Next, I think that's safe to say. They might be in the player book, they might be in the monster book.

Hopefully, they'll be taken out back and shot.

Nice. :erm:

It sounds like there will be support for the broader spectrum of races and classes, but you may not see it all right away -- and perhaps not in the initial public playtest.

That doesn't mean you can't create your own for your home game.

I haven't seen anything confirming one way or the other. But if they aren't in the player's handbook, I expect they will very quickly be released in one supplement or another.

I like exotic races like dragonborns, tieflings and devas, but I'm not so sure they should be in the core rulebook.

I think they'd be perfect in the second player handbook, where we can get into races and classes that are a bit weirder.

Personally, I think that both dragonborns and Teiflings should be setting centric because they both represent somthing that isn't common to all D&D settings and games and trying to shoehorn them in seems awkward.

Even though I feel that both of them should be taken out and shot, I think that those two should be in the first race book to come out after the core books are out, but I don't think that they have a place in the core rule books.

And I played with and as dragonborn and had a blast but I still think that they would be better as a non core race.
