What are the best "Gamers seeking Gamers" websites for finding a new group?

Coincidentally, I have a gaming group that has kind of disintegrated due to folks moving away that is about 20 minutes from Carlisle, in Mechanicsburg, PA. Now, if this is someone that has played in one of your games, PC, he may be a bit disappointed in our slightly more hack-and-slash type gaming. But if not, feel free to pass my name along to him. We'd be glad to have a player or really glad for a DM...

Jason, that's great! My friend Jim is a buddy who I gamed with from 1988 - 1991, back before he moved to Pennsylvania. I'll pass on your kind offer.

Thanks for the sites, everyone. When we're done I'll list these in our own Gamers Seeking Gamers forum as a resource.

I think it's important to not limit yourself to the net. The internet is a powerful resourse but I imagine a small percentage of gamers use the net actively (that is, for a variety of purposes besides news, email, and other casual surfing). There are many more gamers that can be reached by other media such as newspapers, announcements, etc.

In Moscow we posted an ad in a Community Bulletin Board of a local English newspaper; that has proven to be the most effective method of attracting gamers here.

I don't know about D&D Meetup groups outside my hometown, but in San Diego it's something of a joke. The last time I went to a 'meetup' there were two of us. Even though at least five people had said they were coming, and I wasn't one of them. So if you're in the San Diego area you may want to try another method.

BTW, you can find a list of player registries here

Warning: Some sites are misplaced, so click at your own risk.

Update: Went looking around over at Acess Denied and found this page. If you have the old player registry database page bookmarked you may want to do an update.
