What are the best selling d20 products so far?

Aside from entirely separate d20 games like Mutants and Masterminds, Spycraft, etc (i.e. D&D-compatible stuff)...,

What are the best selling d20 products so far? I know many publishers don't disclose their numbers. Is there an objective way ot tell?

My understanding is that a d20 product that has sold more than 20,000 units is a true rarity in the market.

A few I've heard (but really, I have no idea) are : Arcana Unearthed, teh Crucible of Freya, and Hammer and Helm

Anybody think they have a good idea?

I have no clue, but I'd bet you're right about AU.

Alternatively, it could have been something that came out at the start of D20 like the "Creature Collection", but other than something by Monte, or something with Gygax's name on it, I doubt you'll see anthing near 20,000 for the D&D game. (And even for Cook and Gygax, I doubt they are getting anywhere near 20,000 on most products.)

Arcana Unearthed seems a safe bet; it may have just sold exceptionally well initially, but it still had that first good go.

Beyond that, I'm tempted to say the first Relics and Rituals was a big seller. To my knowledge, it was really one of the first spell supplements to hit the market, and even today, isn't too bad of a book, so I see it having done fairly solidly.

The Crucible of Freya seems a possibility as well; after all, wasn't that one of the first published adventures out there?

Which I believe is part of what has garnered the sales - being a first in something, when there was relatively little competition. First spell and magic item supplement, first adventure, and so on.

Other than that...well, if it has a WotC stamp on it, it's probably beaten the tar out of the sales of any books that don't bear it, regardless of relative quality.

You beat me to it, diaglo.

The best selling d20 products were the 3.0 PHB, DMG, and MM.

Oh, did you mean other than these books? Then, there is no objective way to tell, as sales figures are not disclosed.

I'm guessing Monte's AU, but it IS a complete standalone game. Actually, Spycraft by definition ISN'T a standalone, as it does not include the character levelling rules, technically. (it's semantics, but...)

The early stuff

If you wanna know what the best-selling stuff is, look at the earliest releases.

Creature Collection from S&S is probably the best-selling non-WotC book, well-north of the 20,000 cut-off quoted earlier.

I'm guessing (just a guess!!) that Monte's AU hasn't quite sold 20,000.

Crucible of Freya and the first RA adventures will be right up there, along with Death in Freeport and Three Days to Kill.

We've sold just under 10,000 Counter Collection I: The Usual Suspects.

Those are my best guesses...

That's ironic considering all the problems it had, though I suppose it's believable.

And oh, I did mean non WotC products when I started this thread.
