What are the classic pre-3e DUN-GEON issues?

I am thinking of picking up some old issues of Dungeon. I was wondering what the better issues were?

List here your favorite issue, even if someone has already listed it. That way I can rank this popularity contest!

Please No 3.x issues: I already have all of those!

#100 with the best adventure to ever see print in Dragon (and one of my favorite adventures period): The City Beyond the Gate.

Thanks Chuck! I will be sure to look it up when I get home! I am only missing the Dragons that you find between 250 and the start of 3e. So it should be on the CD somewhere!

I've used lots of Dungeon modules with my weekly gaming group. The modules I liked best fell between issues #9 and #36.

FYI, I'm currently running a trilogy using three Dungeon Magazine modules originally written for three different editions. I've started with the 1st Edition "Into the Fire" from Dungeon #1, which then flows into 2nd Edition "Preemptive Strike" from Dungeon #74 and will conclude with 3rd Edition "Shadow of the Abyss" from Dungeon #118. The common theme is that all three are set in a remote mountainous region of a kingdom and involve giants and dragons working together. For the kingdom I'm using the Istivin: City of Shadows setting and history detailed in Dungeon #117. Here's the link to the Story Hour:

The above Story Hour actually starts with another great Dungeon Magazine module, "Beast of Burden" from #100.

Here's a few I liked:

Issue #54, "Unhallowed Ground." Sorta-kinda reminds me of "The Name of the Rose" (murder mystery in a monastery).

Issue #61, "To Save a Forest." Fun wilderness adventure. Nice change from dungeons & ruins.

Issue #63, "Hunt for a Hierophant." Another wilderness adventure, though it wraps up in a dungeon. Can work as a follow-up to "To Save a Forest."

Also, "Invisible Stalker" is a nice Side Trek adventure. City adventure that could be good to fill space, kick off an adventure, or use to introduce a plot hook.

Issue #72, "Plundering Poppof." Another low-level city adventure that you could link to "Invisible Stalker" somehow (if you wanted). Interesting puppet.

Issue #76, "Mertylmane's Road." Good arctic adventure that has the heroes fight off the advance forces of an enemy army.

Issue #78, "The Winter Tapestry." Another arctic adventure than can be linked to "Mertylmane's Road" if so desired.

Don't have very many old issues of Dungeon--I'm sure there's some classics that some folks may be able to point out to you.
