Ok, for a slightly different twist, what would be the primary languages for those (human wizards) interested in ancient, arcane secrets?

I assume draconic. Would Netherese be a good choice? Would a human in the present day be able to learn it? Others?

I would think that Netherese would be the language of a number of tomes related to magical research you might stumble upon. The language of the Imaskari, another magical empire where the Old Empires region is now, might prove useful if one could could find a teacher. In general, the languages of regions and races known for then spells could come in handy, Elven, Halruaan, Mulhorandi (both for Mulhorand and Thay), Alzhedo for Calimshan, ect.
