What are the unique monsters of D&D?

Well, I think the post title pretty much asks the question, but I'll clarify it a bit:

What are the unique monsters of D&D? Creatures that were created solely on their own, & not based on existing myths, folklores, or literature (or any other type of media for that matter)? And which don't use an actual name from these sources either?

Here are a few that (IIRC) are unique to D&D (please correct me if I'm wrong):
* Gnolls
* Aboleths
* Xvarts
* Urds
* Grells
* Sons/Scions of Kyuss

I'm sure there are others, though I can't think of them at the moment.

Any others?

Githyanki
Githzerai
Carrion Crawlers
Gelatinous Cubes
Blink Dog
Displacer Beast
Bulette
Rhemorhaz

This list could probably go on for some time if I was willing to peruse the various monster books while writing it.

The most iconic D&D-specific monsters would probably be the Beholder and the Rust Monster.

Nothing screams Oldschool D&D like a Nonsensical-Assault-Spell-Dispenser™ or a Nonsensical-PC-Treasure-Remover™.

IIRC, Gnolls are from Lord Dunsany, and OD&D gives him credit.

Oteugh and Neo-Oteugh
Roper
Morkoth
All the various slimes, oozes, and molds
Drow
Ixixachitl
Quicklings
Trapper
