Exactly this sort of permanent damage being the source of the name of Oedipus (meaning "Swollen Feet") after being abandoned by his parents due to the awful profecy that he would kill his father and marry his mother. It was a sin to murder though, so they hobbled him and left him in the wilderness for animals to kill. Not too long after a shepherd discovered the young child and rescued him taking him home to his wife to raise naming him for his damaged feet and never telling him they he was not their son...

Oddly, I learned that if you can see the hinges on a door it opens toward you. I had one of those DMs that got a kick out of things that were only funny to him, and therefore spent far too many rounds throwing myself at the door before he let me make an intelligence check.



I also learned that if you refer to the antics of your Shadowrun character in the first person while in a public place, you may find yourself having to explain things in a hurry to strangers.
