What are you Reading? May 2018 edition

I've read the first two Sherlock Holmes stories, A Study in Scarlet and The Sign of the Four. They wouldn't be published today, but it was fun to read and I want to read the next short stories written by Doyle.

I'm slogging through Red Mars by Kim Stanley Robinson.

Just finished The Truth by Terry Pratchett. Took me a bit to get into it, but then the second half flew.

Have a deep To Be Read pile right now, will post when I decide what's next. :)

Woo! Yesterday night I wasn't sure what to read from my pile. I picked up a book and read 7 pages before falling asleep...

...right now, I'm 344 pages into Jacqueline Carey's _Dark Currents_. Been reading all evening. No netflix, no computer games, no ENworld or bookFace or other site.

And dang if it doesn't feel good.

At the local used book store which I try to encourage (town of 2500 people= I doubt it will survive) and support. Got it in a un-read condition for 10 dollars TPB.

Had it for narly a week and just reached the half-way point.

Re-reading Foundation by Isaac Asimov. It is a simple text from another period of sci-fi lit, but it is a good one. It is a very important text.

When I was a teen, a local used book store opened up called Chapter II Books. A friend mentioned that the font made it look like "Chapter 11 Books". Sure enough, it didn't survive.

Though one smart thing it did was used textbooks for the several neighboring colleges. Those things were dang expensive.

Crossroads of Twilight, the tenth Wheel of Time book, is done. And one thing happened in the entire book that moved the plot along. Everything else was just moving chess pieces around the board to make it look like stuff was happening. Frustrating. Still I go onto the next book soon.

But in-between, for the hour or two it’ll take me to read it, is an awful tale of a different sort. The Eye of Argon: The Scholar’s eBook edition.

I'm on the 3rd or 4th story in the Gail Carriger's finishing school collection.

Working on writing chapter 4 of my novel. Progress is good after a year+ hiatus from the 1st draft and a new plot and outline.

Also, I believe it is June. But I could be wrong.
