What are your favorite monster books?

My favorite monster books:

Monsters Handbook(I'll call this a "monster booK" in this case)
Tome of Horrors
MM and MMII

Fiend Folio

Savage Species

In that order.

I personally am not too crazy about the IK setting so I didn't get into the whole Monsternomicon thing. I'm sure it's top notch, just not for me.

I agree that MM is undoubtedly the most useful, since it has the most classic monsters. I personally usually dislike weirdos

If MM wins in my game - by far - for the amount of monsters used, the MotP wins for the % of monsters used.

My favourite non-WotC are Armies of the Abyss and Legions of Hell.

I like:
1) Tome of Horrors (content, not layout)
2) MM1 (content, not layout)
3) 2e Monstrous Compendiums looseleaf sheets (much more utility for DMs)

The 1e FF is the best monster book
. I also Dig the 2e MM and the Planescape Monster books 1 & 2. I've cooled greatly on monsterbooks, I like PC books. Wise and the Wicked is very cool.

For me, my favorite monster books (other than the MM) are:

1) Monster's Handbook- its indespensible to me- I use it almost every session.
2) Legions of Hell and Armies of the Abyss. THE best books of fiends out there- and you can NEVER have too many fiends. :D
3) Liber Bestarius- Eden Studios seldom disappoints, and this book is how a monster book should be done, including sample NPCs for playable races. Lots of unique monsters- not just "another undead" kind of compilation.
4) Tome of Horrors- tons of classics, and the new ones the Necromancer folks included are top-notch too.
5) Necromantic Lore and Twisted Lore- interesting monsters grouped by theme.
6) Fiend Folio- pretty good sourcebook for monsters, although somewhat hit-and-miss.

Personally, I don't see the appeal of the Monsternomicon. I have it, have read it, but it doesn't do anything for me. Perhaps its the steampunk setting, or the fact that there are a lot of similar monsters in it (monstrous humanoids and undead especially).

Monsternomicon - A goldmine of ideas and neat-o creatures. Plus I like the layout and art of the book.
CC2 - I like the weirder monsters in there.
Monster Manual - 'cause the classics never die.
Legions of Hell and Armies of the Abyss - you can never have enough fiends.
