What are your favorite weapons?

Scythe.

Why?

I don't think that even needs an answer.;)
Those always make me thing of Magus. He was just cool.

Anyway, I might be part of an extreme minority, but I love double weapons. Can't get enough of them. They just seem really, really cool.

Except for maybe the Two Bladed Sword. It'd try it out, but seems too blah to me. If I want a Two Bladed Sword, I'd go for the cooler SW version.

Lightsaber.

Oh...wait, D&D? Longsword. A trend. :)

Really, though, I can't stand maces, flails, and the like. Those things don't kill...they just...hurt. A lot. At least a sword can go into someone can kill them, but maces and such are just plain painful.

Zweihander, using the prestige class dedicated to their proper use in Swashbuckling Adventures. The 7th Sea version had illustrations of the stances, a very versatile weapon in the right hands.
Yes, the true two-handed sword was a polearm, spear and a sword all in one. Half-sword techniques, underhand, overhand... With one hand on the hilt and the other on the ricasso, the T-Hander is a fast and deadly weapon.

*EDIT* Does anyone know where to find the clip of a Swiss Vatican guard using a halberd? In one smooth move the guard brought the haft behind the fellows knees - tripping him, and the blade to his throat as he went down. Believe it or not those guys are still trained in how to use those things!
I'm sure I've seen that somewhere before as well, years ago. If I run across it again I'll let you know.

A blunt object to the head with kill someone. :uhoh:

I was a fan of the spiked chain even before I really understood its mechanical awesomeness. I always picture Jackie Chan in Shanghai Noon with the horseshoe on the rope, except the whole thing is spiked. So damn cool.

A good bastard sword is always nice for style points, as is a heavy warhammer. Classic, I tell you.

You say it like it's a bad thing.
:]

Oh, and my favorite secondary weapon is a Bastard Sword. They seem like a balance between the nobility of a Longsword and the strength of a Greatsword. Of course, I like to two-hand my Bastard Swords. The EWP I think takes away some of the... some of the... joi de vie.

This is what the favoirites seems to be in my group.(Me=DM)
Braid blade(see Dun120) and body(for monk), longsword or longspear for fighter, 'plain' mace for cleric and Mondrenken's Sword for Wizzard. My top most favorite is someting I call "segmented sword", it is a flexible sections of interlocking blades with cord running throught the core. By shortening the cord the blades is stiffen, but it can also be used in manner similar to a whip, when not in use it can be cared as bandolier or belt. If you know a proper name for this please post it for me.
