I'd pay good money for a book to be translated into gamer geekese that way, revealing all the D&D references behind character actions and plot developments in a very blase and straightforward manner.
For example...
"He gasped as Silvermoon Raventhorn pulled the ragged edges of his wound together. 'I know, I know, it hurts' she said with the soothing tone one might use with an injured pet or child. He found some small comfort in her deep blue eyes, revealing her obvious concern for her friend. 'But I've got to close the hole before I ask Rhed Kross to intervene.' She closed her eyes and began whispering a prayer to her god..."
Might become...
"He gasped as the cleric rolled her Heal skill against a rather steep DC for his wound. 'Sorry, but I'm nearly out of Cure spells,' she explained. Her high Charisma score didn't make him feel any better. 'And we might need them for other party members before this fight scene is over. This'll have to do for now.' ..."
