My questions sent to the upcoming Podcast:
1. Will the iconic D&D monsters, almost all CR 1-14, remain at their current power levels or will they be increased to accomodate 30 levels?
2. How modular will 4th edition be? Will we be able to play without feats and/or skills? Will there be more than one option to choose from before beginning a game? (i.e. 3E Unearthed Arcana)
3. Will there be a mass combat system designed for 4th edition?
4. Can you tell us some of what the DMG will include? Will different playstyles be addressed for both group preferences and individual preferences? (e.g. player-driven vs. episodic; buttkicker vs. specialist)
5. Will treasure / item attacks be accounted for in monster CRs (or their static XP awards)?
- Relatedly, how will varying character wealth effect the assessment of balanced encounters?
6. Will gold pieces remain the default option for tracking character wealth?
7. Are the standard 6 ability scores used? How about racial ability adjustments?
8. Will there be a default list of languages like in 3E?
9. Will magic item and/or spell creation require feats? Are there still categories of magic items? Are there still eight schools of arcane magic?
10. How will weapon sizing be handled? Will there be exotic weapons? (perhaps culturally specific weapons?) Will more than 3 armor types be optimal after 2nd level?
11. How do mundane crafting rules work? Can creations still be Masterwork? Are they required to be so to be magical?
12. How tactically useful will Attack Roll Modifiers (table 8-5) and Armor Class Modifiers (table 8-6) be in combat? Will these modifiers still exist?
13. Will there be easier 3-dimensional movement rules?
14. Are there still bonus types and stacking of bonus types?
15. Are there new vehicle rules? New evasion and pursuit rules?
16. Will there still be Random Encounter Tables in the DMG?
17. How scalable is the implied setting? I remember hearing about points of light. How will that affect setting specific demographics? Are there still rules for demographics?
18. Will Special Abilities still be mostly codified? Are there still 3 types of Special Abilities? (extraordinary, supernatural, spell-like)
19. How integrated will Ability Modifiers be? Will stats be easy to change with ability score loss? How about level loss? Are poison and disease still primarily ability damage?
