What are your thoughts on TTRPGs with non-standard dice?

There are conversion tables to regular set of dice and phone rollers so its not so dependent. Though, the symbol thing drive me nuts.

Yeah, the conversion charts are just an absolute pain! A reason why not to play a game. You could do something with stickers, or maybe even some custom dice made via Etsy or something (but very expensive and thus another hurdle). For me it totally turned me off on WFRP3e and the FFG Star Wars RPG...

The same issue exists with certain (FFG) miniature games and boardgames, the reason why I often bought additional sets of dice when I could (they were often not in stock or stupidly expensive) or ordered extra during a KS. Often easy to store with the rest of the game in the box, with RPGs it tends to be books (unless it's WFRP3e)...
