What benefit would -you- give in this situation?

Here is the low down.

My epic game is taking to the Astral Plane!

7 30th level characters are making their way to the remote corners of the void in such of a McGuffin. Since it is a bit of a journey, I created a few "random" encounters they can experience.

Some are combat, some aren't - and I wanted to create a purely beneficial one so I came up with this:

They come across a powerful angel guarding a two-way portal to one of the good aligned planes (like.. Celestia..).

Talking with him/her, they can find out that its basically his/her "shift" to guard the portal and so was placed there with an Astral Projection spell. The real body is being well kept back home until the 700 year stand is up and the replacement comes.

Here's the thing: Over time, the angel has fought a few monsters trying to break in and the like so it is somewhat wounded and since there is no real healing or rest on the Astral Plane he/she has been saving its restorative powers and equipment for when it really needs it.

The party is mostly good aligned (one is a Paladin) and so I was thinking that if they spend some of their resources to help it out - it should certainly return the favour.

The question is... how?

Well since the angel is conserving it's own powers in case it really needs them at some future point it doesn't make sense for it to give the PC's stuff (magic item stuff, spell stuff, etc.)

But it could give advice, warnings, introductions to its allies.

Information: the name of someone - or something - that might be able to help them. Not necessarily in this quest, mind.

How about a bauble of some kind that will summon one or more angels, to be used when the party needs help. One-time only. The guardian angel himself can't help, but his/her friends can.

An irritating lantern archon follower who's sent out with the party, eager to see the multiverse. It should talk in a voice like that fawn from the hercules cartoon and be more or less useless, but it somehow survives everything intact...
...And then makes inane comments about whatever event just occurred. "Wow, that sure was a fiendish dragon, right guys! Woooooooow!"

Benefit? Well, technically.
