What book are you just totally hanging out for?

I have a rather obscure book that I have been waiting for for MANY years.

Back in the 80s David Gerrold started a series called The War Against the Chtorr . It has been continued in fits and starts for four books. I don't even remember when the last book came out. It is nowhere near to being resolved though, so I always am waiting. I suppose I'm not exactly 'hanging' since the delays have been so long, but I would love to see the series finished someday.

Somehow that wouldn't surprise me. I remember reading on a web site how there were discussions about making the series into movies.

How about finishing the damn series first?

Where'd you find that title? Its the first time I've seen one for book 11.

I am pretty sure that was the name I saw on the Wotmania message boards. Knife of Dreams was posted as being the title of book 11. I'm just hoping it advances the plot. I can't even say how disgusted I was that it was 2/3 of the way through book 10 before it caught up the the end of book 9.

Blood Rites, Jim Butcher

and paperback versions of

The Swords of Night and Day, David Gemmell
Deathstalker Return, Simon R Green

I not to long ago made a resolution to stop reading series that still have books waiting to be released. The wait for books is terrible, and with many series turning into overwrought drivel it doesn't seem worthwhile. Allowing me to separate the wheat from the chaff as time judges the entire series is a major reason why I made the resolution. This frees up a ton of time as many of these series are not only large, but the books themselves are huge as well. Catching up on many supposed classics, especially in sci-fi where anything longer than a trilogy is extremely rare, occupies my time. Of course, I imagine that all on the same year many of these heralded fantasy sagas will end and I will be floundering under their many voluminous tomes.
