What book should I read now?

There is a series that I enjoyed as much as the George RR Martin series, but for different reasons. The first book is called "Gardens of the Moon" by Steven Erikson. It starts off quite good, and each book only gets better (the third is absolutly fantastic).

One warning is that the author doesn't spend much time explaining things. He get around to it eventually, but for the meanwhile you just have to accept some strange occurances without explaination.

Another warning about Erikson's Mazalan books, for the US contingent, is that he doesn't have a US publisher. Amazon.com intermittently stocks them anyway, but I've picked up the first three via Amazon.ca. I'll pick up book four when the mass-market paperback comes out later this year.

I've also ordered the Erikson books via Amazon Canada (www.amazon.ca). They are almost as quick as ordering from amazon here in the US, and with the US/Canadian dollar exchange, the shipping charges disappear pretty quickly if you order 2 or 3 books. If you are looking for books that are available in the UK or Canada but not in the US, they are definitly the way to go, unless your local independant bookstore is willing to order them for you (something that B&N, Borders, or most other big-box/chainstores will not do).
