What book would you like to see become a movie/mini-series?

Larry Niven’s & Steven Barnes’ Dream Park novels would be good.

Niven also has a bunch of stories and novels in his Known Universe setting that could easily support a sprawling series.
Niven and Pournellle have a bunch of books that would work well, also. "The Mote in God's Eye" comes immediately to mind.

Footfall felt like it was written to be a blockbuster movie. And the Known Space setting could spawn off multiple series - Gil the Arm detective stories, a Beowulf Schaeffer anthology series, a few Ringworld miniseries.

The Smoke Ring would make for a novel setting, though technically challenging.

Gil was one of the first to spring to mind, along with Beowulf Shaeffer.

And the Man/Kzin wars…

Is the time right for a big-budget televisation of Harry Harrison's Stainless Steel Rat series? Planetary invasion, time travel, alien species, election fraud and much more, all through the eyes of a con-man-and-thief-turned-secret-agent. And his reformed-psychopath wife Angelina.

Which reminds me- Greg Bear’s The Way series would be another good candidate.

While the tech can now pretty easily handle making the Fithp, on-screen, I wonder how audiences would react to baby elephants with tentacles for trunks as the big bad aliens?

Which also brings to mind the Ensign Flandry series, by Poul Anderson. James Bond in space? What's not to love?
