What Breaks Through a Daemon's DR?

I had one of the evil fiend types DR overcome by weapons of wood and bone (or other organic materials, such as claws, teeth and a Monk's spinning backfist). I vaguely recall seeing weapons of obsidian as one DR penetrating material and weapons of jade as another DR penetrating material.

That's in Oriental Adventures. Shadowlands oni and other tainted creatures have DR/jade, with obsidian acting like jade +.

I suspect we'll see Pathfinder's daemons with DR/good only, but silver is traditional for daemons and yugoloths in editions past (A'kin the Friendly Fiend from Planescape only took copper, gold or platinum coins at his shop, as silver would burn his hands). Wood, for its ties to the natural world, might make for a good material, especially considering that Pathfinder daemons, being allied with one of the four Horsemen (pestilence, death, war, famine) would be despoilers of nature.

In 2e Ravenloft the lycanthropes had all sorts of wierd DRs for different types or for specific individuals. Usually there was some symbolism or backstory that heroes were supposed to find out as part of overcoming the beasts. I remember gold, wood, bone, obsidian, and I think jade from there as well.

I myself support all new material types vs. damage reduction.

Especially those supported by back story.

My players got punchy at times and only paid 'loths in silver. And we will not go into the use of minor illusions on silver coins and how fast to run when you give a tip to the erinyes stripper in a fiend bar...
