What color is your goblin?

Gobbos = green. Thougb they aren't in the MM, you're right.

I think they're green because they used to be plants, instead of monsters. (I've been told atleast)

I think that comes from Warhammer, where they are spores and grow out of the ground. Still, due to GW and their greenskins, my gobbos have always been green, too.

Since I've always run the Tolkien theme of Orcs and goblins are basically the same thing, (Goblins being smaller) I've always had them blackish-grey or blackish green..with the "high orcs" being nearly all black...

Basically, PJ nailed my version of Goblins/Orcs....

On a similar note, they are not related to Hobgoblins and Bugbears (but those two are related)..and for that matter Trolls are basically Ogres, IMC...except for Sea Trolls..which are more like Deep Ones from Lovecraft.

I've always thought Goblins should be a blackish-green, myself. Never did understand why D&D wanted them to be orange or reddish or anything. I remember when I first saw a 1E Monster Manual and went "Huh? That's weird..."

What's a Gobbos?

Grey, olive green, tan, brown, pastie-white, ochre, all depending on their environment.

Goblins in my home-brew are a bit more mis-shapen mongrels. They don't breed exactly "true", so they get described as whatever best fits the situation.

I've always thought that it was odd that goblins are described as having red or yellow skin in the monster manual. I don't know about you, but goblins in my mind (and in my campaigns) are green. When did this heresy begin in D&D history?

I have two different "goblins" in two different campaigns

My "Yig' goblins which are a little like Feringi (sp?) from Star Trek are a jaundicy sallow yellow color

My Fae goblins look like lots of things. Think Brian Froud or the goblins from Legend

Exactly, the blackish-green Goblin from Legend. That's a goblin. :)
