Do you keep this all in a program of some sort so you can check out trends or statistics in relation to your usages?

Wow. I certainly don't keep anywhere near as extensive records as you do. As to what Monsters and Traps I use, I tend to favour the reptillian creatures of D&D more, monsters like Yuan-Ti, Lizardfolk, Dragons, Ophidians, Nagas and the like. My current campaigns first major story arc was based around a plot that involved all of those creatures in one form or another.

Also a big fan of the Undead, Demons, Devils and after running the Prison of the Firebringer module in recent weeks for my group, I have a new appreciation of Slaadi.

As for traps, I'll use whatever seems to fit the location, but I will admit a weakness for mechanical traps ie dart/spear launchers, pendulum blades, and of course pit traps!

Hey there Mega - I like your new avatar. :)

I also don't keep track in as detailed as you do! Very impressive.

But I am an old gamer and like to use the "trademark" DnD monsters from way back when - you know, oozes (especially the gelatinous cube), myconid, goblins, orcs, molds, spiders and other creepy crawlies, stirges, a few undead wandering around, etc., etc.

Traps are the same sauce - I like the old pit traps and illusory wall type of things. Not terribly creative I know. But you dd ask! ;)

No. This is the first time I have ever tracked the encounters this way. I was curious just how many and what we battled / encountered. I'm sure trends could be seen though.

Pit traps Rule!

Mark CMG- In the Albany Gameday part of Creation Schema I used one of your creatures- slightly altered.

Vicseral Ooze but enhanced, undead and some other templates added to make it CR 8 or 9.

Using a plastic purge (I work within a plastics factory) I got a 4x3 inch pile of plastic that looks like the guts of a huge giant. Painted it and viola- nastiness and gross out factor.

Excellent! :) As a DM/table judge at a gameday you have a prize coming from me. Shoot me an email (Mark@) in front of (CreativeMountainGames.com) and I'll set you up with a new product I have out called "The More Better Indispensable Character Formfolio" which I think you will find useful. You know me, I'm all about the useful and such. ;) :D
