D&D General What D&D Would You Use For A Dungeon Focused Campaign?

I guess I am honor-bound from my previous answer to say 13th Age, but I would also like 4e, or 3.5e if I'm blinded by nostalgia. True20 if I'm feeling spicy. I think 4e-style skill challenges could cover well a lot of dungeon exploration scenarios that don't fall into combat blocks and are served better by a bit of abstraction.

Anything pre-2e or that reasonably-well emulates such.

2e with its emphasis on storytelling isn't as good a fit for dungeoncrawling, which is usually more story-emergent; and 3e (and similar) only works well for dungeoncrawling at low to very low character levels.

4e and 5e (and similar) are too generous with resource replenishment (most notably, hit points) to allow for the resource-management side of dungeoncrawling.
