What did you do to my DM??

So, what are you upset about? The scenario definitely sounds plausible. Are you only quibbling about whether it was an Evil act or not? If so, why does it matter to you?

Come on, Conaill. He's upset because his DM whacked him a good one and we gave him the idea. Of course, now he'll be coming here nabbing all sorts of good ideas of his own, etc.

ENWorld is like nuclear weapons; once one side has us, everyone needs us. :D

Welcome to the boards, Enigma. Go look up some Smack-down threads and get back at your DM!

I remember that thread. The answer to "Is this evil?" should have been YES.

But here's your real enigma, uh...Enigma. Inspect:

Well we rush the ship, its empty but the innkeeper is dead. Looks like they hit with a mace in the back of the head.

The next day we talk to the corpse to see what happened. Well he said he was kidnapped by our rivals, he tried to escape so they hit him with a sword and he died.

There's your mystery right there. What really happened?

OT but

Prof Sharp: No, no, you can't! You have a 95 percent probability of failure! What sort of people would fight a battle with *those* odds?

Bionic One: Heroes, Professor. Heroes.

Bionic Six

This sig is this from the cartoon Bionic Six where the family went camping big bad accident, super genious father rebilds them. Daughter could run really fast, son strong arms, mom had enhanced psychic abilities, can't remembe the rest.

If so was it re-released on cartoon network or something. When it 1st came out I remember liking the cartoon, but i haven't seen it in years.

DM whacking players

I'm glad that my players havn't located this site yet, of course I don't have plans for them to fight an epic level necromancer any time soon either.

sorry...

I have to take responsibility for this. I was the wieney that started the "is this evil?" thread- and was just looking to see if anyone found what we did to be evil? Most said yes- from thievery, to kidnap, to involuntary manslaughter.

Anyhoo- I don't see how your DM using that as part of his backstory to be anywhere near relevant to my story. yes- it was the same scenario, but it is the DM doing it this time, not the players.

When We whacked the guy, we tried to subdue him and tie him up. The DM rules it a deathblow and we are tried for murder.

When the DM did this, he knew the outcome- er- death. he ruled himself that the guy whacked him and killed him on accident.

What happens how is up to the players, and the law.
1) the players have the choice- and rightfully so- to go after the group to bring them to justice (as the DM did in our game)
2) they can move on and go to another tavern/ inn and forget about the whole thing.
3) they can hand it over to the authorities. Vigilante justice is uncalled for. what do you think this is? some fantasy world where heroes can do pretty much whatever they want?

But yeah- that was my story- and tell your DM I want to paid my royalties. He stole my creative virginity...

As a level 6 Paladin of Tyr, I think this group might well be "the authorities". As Enigma said:

Oh we will hunt the group down, tyr has judged them guilty

-edit-
For those not familiar with Tyr, the first line of his Dogma starts: "Reveal the truth, punish the guilty..."

Hmmm.. I guess I should have added a happy face behind that line. I kinda thought the line about "fantasy world where heroes can do whatever they want" would have implied that...
