What DnD book of yours is the most damaged?

1981 Red Box Basic Set rulebook. Lost the cover when I was 13 or 14, and taped the pages together with masking tape. Later stuck it in a three ring binder because it was published already holepunched.

Second on the list is my First edition Monster Manual, which had the upper corner on the binding side chewed by a dog, and then a parrot.

Everything in the last 17 years though is still in mint condition, as are most of my other first edition books -to include Unearthed Arcana. By age 15 I simply learned how to take care of books.

I'm surprised that nobody has mentioned thier 1e Unearthed Arcana books falling apart. Heck, I made a copy of mine when it fell apart and that fell apart too.

I'll second that. My UA had well over 3/4 of its pages fall out, and I did not abuse it, get it wet, or anything. It was just very poorly assembled. I ended up buying a second backup copy a few years later just in case I ended up losing something. It was easily the worst-constructed D&D book I ever owned.

Just a simple little question...
Mine, no doubt, is my copy of Monsters of Faerun. One of my fellow gamer's little brother bent a page (the browm dragon entry, to be precise) in half, and a few months later I spilled an entire bowl of ramen on it. It still smells like MSG and chicken flavoring...

Demiurge out.

My PHB. Mass use.

My 3e PHB is probably second, the bindiing let go on the front cover so it really opens wide now.
Mine's pretty much that way too. I'm extremely anal about how nice my books stay, and most of the time they're on their shelf.

My bastard friend still has my d20 Call of Cthulhu book... i grow worried over it's safety... his books never look very nice after too much time... :-/

Absolute worst condition: My 2nd ED player's handbook. Old, frayed, and well-used.;)

2nd worst condition: My 3rd ED player's handbook semi-frayed and well-used.:)

Well, 90% of my beat up RPG books are all Runequest. My D&D books are actually in pretty good shape except for the core 1E set (DMG, PH & MM) which are a bit beat.

My early basic stuff would be it, if it hadn't disappeared over the years (as well as the white box version of the original D&d with the 4 Supplements). Thinking about it, I'd have to say the worst shape is my "In Search of the Unknown" module which had something spilled on it, is written in & is in generally used shape.

My son has a very damaged PHB 3E book that looks like it's seen it's last days. Since he just got brand new 3.5 books he's volunteering it for our "sacrifce" to the gaming gods tomorrow. ;)

I can hear the chants of "fire" already... ;)

The binding kind of wore out on my Unearthed Arcana 1e, so many of the pages are coming out, but they are all in very good condition, just in multiple pieces
