What do Dwarves eat?

This and many other questions will be answered when the Dwarven Stronghold Project is completed. You should join us!

I like many of the ideas here, and can suggest some more as well.

Rothe (underground cattle)
Goat (bighorns)
Various fungi (also brewable)
Anything that they want! they have steel and can trade for anything.

Classic Dining at the local Dwarven Inn

Well if you are going to get into specifics, such as individual entree's that are favorites and such, I would pattern them closely after german food. Very heavy cuisinne that involves cooking with lots of mustard, vinegar, and Beer. Most specially beer! It seems a common theme with lots of games that Dwarves really enjoy their brews. I'd wager that each dwarven clan or tribe have a list of brews unique to themselves, family recipes and such. Granted one doesn't grow hoppes and such underground, but I'm sure Dwarves would find a way, or trade for the crops.

Besides beer, they might also be into varies brandies and such.

An example of a dwarven meal might be

Morian Cream Pilsner w/ Rothe blood sausages and Sourkrout (who says that Dwarves didn't invent sourkrout?!?) as an appetizer.

Followed by Rothe Rump slow roasted in a steam bath of Gosur Dark Stout, with roasted mushrooms and assortment of local fungi thats been pickled. Served with a glass of Konus Amber Ale.

Desert would be sweet yams with a glass of Rummnahiem Rasberry Lambic (a desert beer).

mmmm makes my mouth water just thinking about it.
