That's right. The DM is out to get you. He hates you. He likes it when you have to stop the game so you can roll a new character because you charged an ancient wyrm red dradon at 3rd level. Why do things always degenerate into an "us vs. them" mentality? It's a game. It takes both players and Dms to make it fun. I appreciate my players for making me laugh. I appreciate them showing up more often than not. I appreciate them not getting gripy when I make a mistake in the rules. I appreciate it when they level up their characters between game sessions and save 15 minutes of game time on game day. I appreciate them for liking a game I love and wanting to be involved in it enough to ask questions and get involved in stories and with NPCs. The most rewarding thing a player can do for me is feel like they matter, because in my world, they do.

Considering that the 'average' game is supposed to have 4 players, and prolly more with a good DM, i think your observation merely proves that DM's appreciate players MORE than vice versa. Otherwise there should be 4+ DM appreciation posts to every player appreciation post

Don't feel too bad, Americans typically do poorly at math.

EDIT: Lemme put some appreciation in here too :D

Everything Eric said, and pretty much everything else.

Agreeing with the DM's incorrect rule calls, even if they hurt your character, for the sake of the game.

Helping the DM with rules since noone can know them all. Make that 'no mortal'. Forgot about Caliban there.

Showing up consistantly so there IS a game.

Creating backgrounds so rich that when I use them, the PLAYERs practically write the adventures and it is a joy to chronicle them.

The cookies. And coffee. And pie.

The way the whole group is considerate and willing to make concessions so everyone gets their time to shine.

Maybe the fact taht the DM thread gets 2-3 posts per post the player thread gets is due tot he fact that there are at least 2-3 players per DM?

Personally, I love my players, they always manage to do the right thing when I expect them to go wrong, and to screw up when I think the right thing is obvious. THey keep me on my toes. :)

Even the casual observer would note that the ENBoards are primarily full of DMs. Therefore, the other thread probably has a largish elements of DMs big-noting their own pastime.

And Roland, I'm not American, but even I found that last comment rude and obnoxious.

EDIT: Noticed the Illinois in Roland's location. Carry on. :)

I believe about half of all players DM as well.

Ironically enough, Americans also do very badly in spelling. I'm hardly 'jealos' :D
