A shoulder-bag, inteded for use to carry a laptop I think (I'm not certain). Strong and sturdy.

I used a pda for a long time but just got ahold of an old laptop I can convert to game use. That will lighten my load considerably.

If I'm playing I use only a backpack, I carry what I need and leave the rest at home.

If I'm DMing (which is more often) I have a soft side tacklebox with a 2400 ci volume that I carry everything in; minis in plastic bait boxes seperated by need, dice in the same boxes seperated by type, books loose and notes and briefs categorized in folders. Large maps are usually rolled up in mailing tubes and everything is suplicated on my thumb drive in case something happens to the originals.

Backpack, in hand or nothing...

As a player I usually need only my char sheets, the PHB and dice, and the first one is the only that I cannot already find at the DM's place :D

I have my dice in the ever trusty Crown Royal bag (although, the DM has his in a cloth Captain Morgans bag), and I usually don't carry anything else, except a pencil in my pocket. All of the books are at the DM's house, and the characters stay there between sessions. If we need to work on them, the DM/GM/whatever the game calls it is there every night after work, and we go hang out, and sip a couple of brews while doing game admin.

I keep most of my books in a backpack. However, we play at my house most of the time so I don't need to carry my stuff very far. Just from the basement to the kitchen.

We play at my house so most of the time I don't need to worry about it. However, when I was DM'ing at another player's house in a previous game I used a plastic storage container that was on wheels (I used to take 12+ books to each session as the other players owned pretty much just the PHB, if that). I'm definitely glad we play at my house now! :D
