See, there was this time where, fleeing from Sky Pony Barbarian north of the troll-infested Evermoors, west of the Moonwood, en route to Silverymoon, Arn the Halfling, separated from the rest of the party, found a cave. In this cave were orcs. Uthgart barbarians were tracking him back.
He shouted in the cave, insulting the orcs, challenging them in the name of Uthgart, and then hid safely. 5 minutes later, the orcs, fully equipped for war, emerged from the cave, stumbling right upon the Uthgarts that were searching the clearing before the cave. There was much slaughter, and Arn got to look at the gleeful carnage, wishing he had popcorn. The humans prevailed, all orcs were slain.
Then, the barbarians with the lame clan name burried their dead, and stuck their fallen comrades' lances in the mound, as a testimony of their valiance to the whole world. They piled the orc bodies in a big heap for crows to feast upon.
Once the barbarians, fatigued, wounded, and presuming Arn slain by the orcs, left, Arn left his hiding place, broke the lances, peed on the burial mound, and cursed the barbarians' souls to be captured by the orcish souls and sent to Nishrek for eternal torment.
I loved playing Arn. Anyway, all this story to say that he did do some burial rites for his enemies. OK, burial desecration rites, to be more precise, but rites nonetheless.
