yep, i imagine you're correct in that assumption. but i then just have to ask those people who want to do that, "Why not use any of the very very good wargaming products on the market? Why do you want a D&D wargame if you're going to ignore the magic?"

because they aren't designed to use our characters. if we want a system that will involve the PCs, allowing for magic (to a degree, there aren't that many wizards floating around in my campaign world and they ahve better things to do than fight wars fro kings), then we need a different system. a new system...

i'm looking forward to skip williams one myself...
