What do you want to see in the fourth Adventure Path?

Rod of Seven Parts would make an interesting focus to AP4.

I agree with the 1-12 AP. Certainly no epic stuff. And no more demons, please. Or outsiders/elementals period. Something more intrigue/political/human(oid)ocentric would be cool. And keep up the cool blasts from the past. Something Slaver oriented would be cool, too.

I like the 1-20 idea.

Also, it needs to be written in a way that would "accomodate" many of the new classes; Ardent, Shadowcaster, Swordsage etc. but not require them. Maybe with an appendix "If you are using Psionic classes add or change this" and "If you are using Book of Nine Swords, change this" This would probably work even better by way of Web Support.

I also like the "World Spanning" adventure and Eberron would be best for this. With access to the Lightning rail and Skyships, they can travel cross country very fast and get to the adventure faster. Plus, there are A Lot loose threads in the Eberron setting and I would love to see how some "professionals" :heh: would tie them alltogether in a not EPIC but epic adventure.

See, my first thought was urban intrigue (I run a game in this vein right now), but SCAP is actually pretty heavy on that stuff, and would seem to qualify. Unless WotC can tie a city-based AP into an existing property (Ptolus, Waterdeep, or Greyhawk) it doesn't seem worth it to me.

Seems like folks are never happy. Maybe my facts are wrong below....

1) The APs are sucessfull at level 1-20. The SC and AoW seemed to be received rather well.
2) Dungeon magazine has never been better. This I think most of us can agree on.
3) All people will never be happy all the time. A given.
4) 1-12 is a mini-campaign (which we've had before). We've even had a few 3 adventure arcs in Dungeon.
5) The 1-20 AP formula seems to be working fine. I hope the staff at Paizo rides this pony till it throws a shoe.

Hope I dont get the flames for what Im quoting next but....

Mostly human NPCs and antagonists in an all-urban setting with mostly non-combat encounters as challenges.

Umm... I love non-combat encounters at times too, but most(?) of the challenges would get boring for me rather quickly. If this were the norm, We could just LARP or something, maybe eventually dump dice altogether.
Id rather keep some action in the game, kill some creatures , get treasure, you know..... D&D.

I'd like to point out that my group tends to be role players first, it can take us several sessions to do a small dungeon crawl. We are not about the hack and slash. You would be surprised as to how many "non-combative" solutions my group finds to many encounters. In the end we would still like to "slay the dragon, storm the castle, rescue the princess, become the stuff of legend, etc" at least most of the time.

I would like to see Evil druids, with a variety of environments and lots of outside locals. Give those mounted combat feats some excercise and actually use the long range on some of those spells. Levels 1 - 20 would be fine, but build in an in game time span of years instead of days or months.

1-20 but there is no reason they can't conclude things at 12 for those people and then have extra built on that.

I want something majorly political centered around a major city with influences that extend hundreds of miles away.

Or those people could do that on their own. Its easy as a DM to stop in the middle of a campaign and to wing a feasable end to it.

To add, some people enjoy playing high level characters. Im a big fan personally of low level play (my fave levels being 1-6), but I do enjoy the high level stuff when I get there. Most of the ealry 3rd edition great modules were mostly within that 1-12 (or parts thereof) range or a tad higher ending at level 13-14. Not much was past that. High level (and high quality) adventures are finally coming in fast and furious, most of it IMO, from Dungeon magazine. The writers are talented and know the rules well enough to make it enjoyable.

Long stat blocks cant really be avoided at that level, and at that level we should be doing epic deeds. I dont know why people say we had "too many" epic endings already. IMO, we only had 1 out of 2 EPIC endings in the APs so far.
That was the AoW.... Kyuss would have plagued the world if we failed. In the SC, at worst we would have lost Cauldron, and eventually Sasserine and that remote corner of the world to the Carcerian hordes. So the SC wasnt that epic (at least in aftershocks). Yeah, the fiends would have tried to spread out of the Amedio jungle eventually but Kyuss was a far greater danger (again IMO).
