What Edition of D&D was your First (with fixed Poll)

Started with 1e (we found a first printing AD&D PHB on the side of the highway one day)

Oh man there is a whole story there I would love to know. I must know. I mean...it could be anything.

"Hey man, did you pack my D&D books? 'cause the box is in the back of the truck but it's open and I'm missing one."

"No, I can't play. My mom got mad 'cause I wouldn't quit going on about it and she threw my book out the car window. Yes I'm serious!"
