What feat is this?

Eraslin

First Post
I recall reading a feat once upon a time that allowed a spellcaster to reduce the casting time of all of their Summon Monster type spells to 1 action, instead of the regular full round. The problem is that I cannot remember, for the life of me, what the feat is called nor where I read it.

Does the feat sound familiar to anyone? If so, do you remember what it is called and where I might find it?

Thanks,
Eraslin

You might be thinking of Rapid Spell, which, I don't think does this either.

It's not a feat - it's a class feature of the Conjurer Variant in Unearthed Arcana.

He trades in a wizard ability for it, though I can't remember which - familiar, bonus feats, or bonus specialist slots.

Oh, don't know about that. Rapid Spell lets you cast a spell with Casting Time: One Round as a Standard Action. I thought there might be confusion there.

Edit: That's not right... stupid not having the book with me. Anyone else?

Ah, Hypersmurf has it. Thanks a tonne. Shame that we're not playing with the variant wizards in the game I'm in. Does anyone know what book this "Rapid spell" feat is in?

The Complete Divine (p. 84) has the metamagic feat Rapid Spell (+1) that reduces a full round casting time to 1 standard action.

I keep thinking it's +2, for some reason. Don't know why. Maybe I'm just subconsciously thinking of it as a 'half-quicken'.

I think it's the familiar (90% sure) and possibly something else (not so sure). It's been a while since I read UA specialized variants.
