What Free Games are out there?

With the news of 4$dventure by WotC, I would like to remind folks about these wonderful free alternatives. No need to rush out to burn your old gear and buy the next set of books.

In particular check the site www.starfrontiersman.com There is a lot of great stuff there, and more to come very soon. You can even see some of my own contributions in the pages of the webzine.

Dragon Warriors technically isn't free; the site it is listed on has scanned the books into PDF format and posted them there. Plus, it isapparently being re-released soon.

Good game, though. It was actually my first RPG.

SLA Insutries is available through RPGNow (the older edition, not the new 1.1 one), and also Ars Magica Fourth Edition is likewise available through e23 (not the newer 5th edition). (John Kim lists ArM4 but his link his broken; I don't believe he lists SLA Ind.)

Honorable Mention

This game deserves the recognition of having one of the most unique dice systems I've ever seen. Never been able to convince anybody to play it with me though. I'm not completely sure I even understand it.

Just the other day, after EGG's death actually, I remembered this old gamebook series he wrote and got a little nostalgic. I lamented that I'd never see it again and I felt like a bit of my childhood was gone forever. This thread allowed me to find something that took me way back. So, thanks.
