For the record, I voted "other" as "D&D" for me is a highly house-ruled AD&D1e with AD&D2e THAC0 instead of attack matrices, multi-classing restrictions lifted, no weapon speed modifiers, etc. I actually prefer OD&D and BD&D, but this hybrid system is what I cut my teeth on, so it's what I tend to associate "D&D" with in terms of actual play.

I have played D&D since 1978. Each new edition has changed D&D for me, yet kept it definitively D&D. I have loved and enjoyed each edition (although there are always stinker supplements involved with each). When 4e comes out, I suspect it too will "be D&D" for me, and truly define what it is. And I shall still have a fond memory for what it was.

I have played every version of D&D, and while I have nejoyed all of them att the time, I feel 3.5 is the best system for me because it offers the best combination of character creation expertise, tactical combat and roleplaying opportunity.

I enjoy all three parts of the game mentioned above. All editions have offered Roleplaying, but the toehr two were not so present in earlier editions.
