What Gaming Podcasts Do You Recommend?

I've only recently gotten an iPod and broadband internet. Now that I have to 2 of those I'm on the lookout for some good gaming podcasts to listen to on the train to and from work. So far the only ones I have listened to are the WotC D&D podcasts and a Green Ronin one where Chris Pramas taked with Erik Mona.

So what podcasts do you listen to? And what ones would you recommend? Feel free to give me an idea of the sorts of things they talk about on the podcasts.

Thanks,

I highly recommend Fear the Boot. These guys have great recommendations on various role-playing topics, and focus a lot on characters. They have a real charm to them. Be sure to check out the Chainmail Bikini webcomic while you're there. What I like is that their topics can apply to a variety of systems.

Dragon's Landing Inn is really good too, albeit a bit long.

Green Ronin's is okay.

I actually don't recommend the D&D podcast (sorry, WotC!). The quality lacks a bit in the production side of things (sorry, it's my broadcasting degree speaking). Slice of SciFi and Dragon Page are good examples of what a podcast should sound like. Not everyone will get to that level, but the D&D podcast could try a bit harder (editing, audio levels, and music will do wonders). The discussion doesn't interest me all that much. If you're big into rules, you may like it. I will say that it has improved since it began.

There are several other podcasts out there to try out. I saw a thread that updates the gaming podcast releases recently, so check that out.

Be sure to check out the Dragonlance Canticle, which I co-host. If you're into Dragonlance, this show is for you!

I really recommend Sons of Kryos. It is the best, IMHO, with Have Games, Will Travel as second best.

Sons of Kryos has intelligent discussions on all manner of things about roleplaying, in a friendly and fun tone. They play a lot of indie games, but their discussions are valid for any game.

And if you're interested in indie games the Voice of the Revolution is good. Cohosted by Paul Tevis who does the Have Games, Will Travel podcast.

I really like Dragons Landing. They can be a long, but I think this is because they only put out 1 or 2 a month. They guys who host it are pretty funning IMO. I have found something useful in almost all of the shows.

Going through the archive is really not on my list of fun things to do, though. What are the best episodes of Dragon's Landing? Have they done a greatest hits?

They don't have a greatest hits that I know of. Unfortunately, I really can't think of any of the specific episodes to recommend. I have listened to all 86 over the past couple of years. I really think if you were to just pick one or two, it would give you a good feel for their show. Sorry I can't be more help.
